A quick post about another fave wine. I’m definitely swimming in reds this winter. The bolder the better. Tonight it was Alexander Valley Vinyards’ Cabernet Sauvingnon, 2005.
Yum. Fruity, juicy and so tasty.
According to the winemaker, the long growing season of this vintage (due to wetter and cooler than normal) allowed the fruit to stay on the vines a bit longer and develop more flavor. If you have the nose for it, you’ll notice the cassis and possibly a hint of cocoa.

A great hostess gift for a red wine lover indeed! (hint hint girlfriends)
