ebay and the CFDA (council of fashion designers of America) launched a campaign to celebrate original designers and raise awareness about the growing problem of counterfeits. Recently the annual summit for anticounterfeiting was held, hosted by Harpers Bazaar, to explore how the internet has made it easier for criminals to get their fakes into the hands of consumers.

The result is a tote bag costing only $35.00 with the front printed “You Can’t Fake Fashion” in blue on the front. Tote by CFDA features dual handles, adjustable shoulder strap, coordinating stitching, and brass-tone hardware. Interior features include handy cell phone pouch and pouch pocket.

The very exciting news is the fabulous one-of-a-kind versions 50 popular designers made of this bag.  I was so bummed to have found the page only to see them all sold out.  But it is worth looking at the many personalities evident in these creations.  And I have my plain but fabulous “You Can’t Fake Fashion” bag…so I’m still a happy handbag hoarder.
