When the thermometer creeps upward, tempting me to move to regions where snowshoes are in style 9 months out of the year, I’m relieved to find something tolerable to do with my long, thick hair that doesn’t involve a quick twist and a large hair clip.

And I’ll share a little tip I received my my personal hair stylist, Vilma, at Xiphium Salon: those totally cute styles the stars wear that look impossible for us Jane’s to duplicate because we do a bit more moving around than just walking down the red carpet…..Hairpins. Yep. Loads of them if needed. You simply secure them by placing pairs of them in an “x” shape. Locks it up like Fort Knox.
