Key Looks for Spring Break

Spring break is upon us, so for those lucky enough to be jetting off for warmer weather (or for us just dreaming about it) here are a few key transitional pieces and ideas for how to wear them now and into the warmer months.

The Tunic-

I love tunics because they always give such a laid-back but “put together” vibe.  Plus, they’re super comfortable, easy to wear, AND to pack!

Wear Now:  With jeans or pants, a jacket, cardigan or blazer and a scarf and boots to warm things up.

Wear Later/Spring Vacation: Shorts, linen pants or leggings (if it is long enough!) and pair with sandals, wedges and a fun hat and sunglasses.

Maxi Dress-

Maxi dresses have such a comfortable feel but can still make a woman look like a million bucks.  I can’t tell you how many of these I have and how I am constantly on the look-out for a new one!   In addition, it’s easy to pack and very lightweight.  This is a key piece when traveling because you can go from day-to-evening with just a change of accessories…truly amazing!

Wear Now: With a sweater, cardigan, or blazer, a scarf and boots or with heels to dress it up.

Wear Later/Spring Vacation: With sandals, wedges and any necklaces, bracelets or other accessories you wish.

White Pants

I get it, white pants may sound scary but they have come a loooong way!  They aren’t the unflattering, uncomfortable kind they used to be.  There are so many different cuts, styles, shapes, and materials.  The most important thing to keep in mind is your body type.  I think a universally flattering cut is a trouser style with a loose, slightly flared leg in a cotton material.  I bought a similar pair to these from the Gap a few years ago and wear them like I’d wear pants or jeans.

Wear Now:  With any heavier top, sweater, layered shirt, blazer, jacket with boots, ballet flats, heels.

Wear Later/Spring Vacation: With a tunic, t-shirt, tank, sandals, wedges (I think a fun statement necklace would be a great option here as well).

Always have fun and mix and match what feels comfortable to you.  Which style will you try?
