Top Fashionista Travel Tips & Must-haves – Part 1

Travel –whether for work or for fun – takes us to new parts of the world, reunites us with old friends and challenges us to get out of our day-to-day world. It also gives us the opportunity to test out ninja-like packing skills.

I’ve lived hundreds, even thousands, of miles away from friends and family ever since I left for college. Twenty years of trips via trains, planes and automobiles – and more travel this year for work than ever before – has helped me perfect the art of the suitcase.

Here is my go-to list for girls on-the-go:

Multipurpose Beauty Products:

Urban Decay Flushed – a genius trio of bronzer, blush and highlighter, all in universal shades and all in one sleek compact.

Beauty oil – There are tons of brands to choose from at Sephora.com. Choose the right one for you and let it serve as your head-to-toe treatment while traveling. Use it to treat split ends, make hands and nails more presentable and mixed with body lotion for extra oomph.

Other Beauty Must-Haves:

Perfume roller ball – don’t waste space or risk a broken bottle tragedy. There are so many perfumes available in a roller ball so find your favorite! (pictured Jimmy Choo at Nordstrom.com)

Body Lotion – Of all the amenities offered by hotels, body lotions are historically awful and watery. Pack a super moisturizing travel tube of your favorite (especially if you will have bare arms or legs!).

Single dose hair or face treatments – After a long day of meetings (or family time) a little mask or deep conditioning treatment is heavenly and can create a relaxing ritual when far from home.

Travel Comfort:

Cozy socks – You’ve heard it a million times before. Airplanes have a tendency to be freezing so cozy socks that you can snuggle into once you’re 30,000 feet up are a must.

Stay tuned – .more great travel tips to come as I continue my travels!
